A promise is a promise! 

Four girlfriends and self-proclaimed “muscleteers” Lea (Jessica Schwarz, The Perfect Secret GER21), Steffi (Julia Becker), Toni (Petra Schmidt-Schaller) and Maja (Nora Tschirner, Rabbit Without Ears) swore to each other as teenagers that they would celebrate their weddings together, no matter what. 

What was solemnly sealed between gymnastics club trainings and sleepover parties, Maja demands 26 years later – spontaneously in Italy. Backing out is not an option, so Lea, Toni and Steffi set off to Italy. After facing an unexpectedly long ride in a tiny rental car to Maja’s wedding location, they encounter the unexpected. 

During their chaotic road trip, the fundamentally different thirty-somethings will be confronted with missed opportunities and the painful truths at the core of their longtime friendship. 

Written, directed by and starring Julia Becker, female-led comedy Over & Out treats viewers to an inventive feel-good road-trip film in a beautiful setting.
